Spitfire Mk IX
Spitfire Mk IXc MH417
Cdt René Mouchotte / S/C Pierre Magrot
No 341 (Free French) Squadron, Royal Air Force
Groupe de Chasse «Alsace»
27 août 1943

NB: On August 27, 1943, No 341 Squadron lost two pilots in aerial combat: René Mouchotte, the squadron's CO, and Pierre Magrot. It is not known which of these two pilots flew MH417 on that fateful day. This is the reason why both names are shown on the print.
